Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project for 2025 Bal Harbour Beach Renourishment

Client: Aggregate Enterprises, LLC

Project Type: Topographic Survey

Project Location: Miami-Dade County, Florida

Services Provided: Beach Profiles

Morgan & Eklund, Inc. (M&E) provided pre-and post-construction surveys for Eastman Aggregate Enterprises LLC, who were under contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers together with the City of Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County.

Initially, M&E field crews verified horizontal and vertical control monuments and set additional control points as required for RTK base stations. Additionally, our firm provided construction staking for fill placement and pre-and post-fill cross sections to determine fill volumes between FDEP range monuments R-27 and R-32, totaling 4,400 linear feet of beach.

Our survey crews set grade stakes for fill placement within the design template and collected elevation data along cross-sections spaced at 100’ intervals before fill and immediately after fill. Data were used to compute pay volumes.
