Client: Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC
Project Type: Hydrographic Survey
Project Location: Hollywood, Florida
Services Provided: Multibeam Swath Bathymetry, Single Beam Bathymetry
Morgan & Eklund, Inc. (M&E) was contracted by Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC to provide pre-construction bathymetric surveys of Port Everglades inlet. Four survey methodologies (multibeam sonar, singlebeam sonar, GNSS RTK rover, and differential rod and level surveys) were used to provide the client with a robust dataset detailing site conditions along the north shoreline and surrounding areas of Port Everglades inlet.
Additionally, a local GNSS RTK base station was deployed on established site control points. Overlapping acquisition for each survey methodology was ensured for accuracy verification. Tide readings for area water elevations during the multibeam and single beam bathymetric surveys were logged for vertical position quality control purposes. Data sets were processed in Hypack Hysweep Survey, Trimble Business Center, TCP Cloud, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
The resulting data set was merged and composited into a digital terrain model (DTM) surface in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Client was provided with a certified drawing set with transect profiles and DTM model describing the survey site.
